Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Portage la Prairie is holding its annual "Bowl For Kids" at the Southport lanes this weekend. Executive Director Dawn Froese says this event is always one of their biggest fundraisers each year, noting they hope to bring in thirteen thousand dollars. Froese says that amount will help them continue mentoring even more children in the community. She notes they're very grateful for the folks who have already agreed to bowl but they still have some openings if anyone else would like to participate. Froese adds even if it's a last minute decision where you decide to bring the family out, as long as you're willing to make a donation to Big Brothers/Big Sisters you can come and bowl and have a good time.

She says they do have quite a few people who help them out every year and they're always thankful for everyone who bowls. Froese notes this event is a lot of fun, adding there'll be snacks and crazy bowling so you don't have to have any skill. She adds this year's theme is Dr. Seuss and some folks will be dressed up accordingly. If you'd like to take part in "Bowl For Kids," please call the Big Brothers/Big Sisters office at 204-857-4397 or send an email to bbbsportage@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca.
