The Town of Arborg received very exciting news yesterday.

Premier Brian Pallister visited the community to announce PR 326 will be re-done. Peter Dueck is the Mayor of Arborg, and he outlines 19.7 km of PR 326 will be brought up to RTAC standard. Dueck calls this huge for farmers, manufacturers, employees, and contractors.

"It would be difficult to overstate the economic impact of this announcement for our region," insists Dueck.

Pallister made the statement, no pun intended, this upgrade paves the way for expansions in the area.

Currently, PR 326 is a gravel road, hard to maintain, and has a weight restriction. Dueck adds an empty truck is overweight on it.

"If you drive that road, you do so at the risk of chips in your paint on the vehicle, and a broken windshield. Dust and mud for manufactures is a huge deal because either your product is covered in dust after the first 10 miles of taking your product to market, or it's covered in mud."

Dueck adds, his community is very grateful. Noting it's great when the community and region feel they're heard and understood.

"...there is momentum, enthusiasm, excitement, it's absolutely palatable," says Dueck.
