Selkirk-Interlake-Eastern M.P. James Bezan is speaking out on the prime minister's recent trip to Ukraine. Bezan says he applauds the government for finalizing the free trade agreement with Ukraine which was negotiated by the previous Conservative government. Bezan notes he's very proud of that, adding it's a positive step which will increase trade between our two countries. He says if Canada is going to support Ukraine through this time of Russian aggression, we also have to ensure that they can be prosperous economically. Bezan notes this will definitely improve the lives of Ukrainians and open doors of opportunity for Canadian businesses and ag producers. He adds while the feedback from some of the 1.3 million Canadians who claim Ukrainian heritage has been positive so far, there are still some concerns about the Liberal government's decision to cancel the sharing of enhanced satellite photo imaging with Ukraine.
