Renovations are underway at the BDO Centre in Portage la Prairie.

A spokesperson of the Centennial Community Club Inc Board outlines a new liner is being installed in the arena, one of which is low emissive. Another new feature is LED lighting.
The spokesperson explains these choices were not only for cosmetic reasons but were made to make the centre more energy efficient to keep operating cost down.

Also, in the arena, some boards and glass are being repaired. The showers in the change rooms are receiving upgrades as well.

The BDO Board members would like to extend a huge thank you to the Community Foundation of Portage and District for making this a reality. The centre received a grant worth $10,000 to make these renovations happen.

Additional funding has been requested through the Provincial Governments Building Sustainable Communities program. The current renovation work will cost $120,000.
