There was a good crowd for the Portage la Prairie Co-op's AGM last night at the William Glesby Centre.

Co-op General Manager Kevin Dales says 2015 was a year of ups and downs, but a positive year overall.

"We had our struggles, but a lot of that had to do with the volatility in crude pricing and our pump pricing and petroleum. So our sales were down, but we still made it through with a local savings and a net savings of 2.3 million dollars. So we're very happy with those results."

Dales says members left feeling good about the company's strength, moving forward.

Dales giving some remarks last night

"Proof of the strength in numbers. Their support, I know none of this could be true without (members) support, and of course my staff and my management team and the board of directors for everything they do in the community."

Dales says a big reason they're successful is their employees.

"My staff are amazing. They keep donating their time to organizations like coaching ball hockey and those types of things. That's what makes us a great piece of the community, and why we remain successful. It's our people."

Dales says members left feeling excited for the future, and safe knowing the company is always working for them.
