The Zone 4 Curling Step 2 Playdowns are today and tomorrow at the Portage Curling Club.

16 teams from around the zone will be competing for a chance to represent the league at the provincials. 8 Boy's teams and 8 Girl's teams make up the tournament -- with one spot allotted for each -- and Portage Collegiate has 2 rinks on the boy's side, and 3 rinks on the girl's.

Grade 12 PCI skip Lindsay Verway's excited for a chance at provincials.

"Yeah, I'm really hoping that our team can make it to provincials this year in Gladstone. We've been working really hard, and we're just hoping it pays off."

"Oh yeah, this is really important. I've never been this far into a bonspiel before. I play with a great group of guys and I love it."
