The Zone 4 High School Baseball Championship's going to be decided today at Portage la Prairie's Rotary Republic Park.

PCI Trojans and Garden Valley Zodiacs earned a bye into the semi-finals, which happen at 1 o'clock.

Coach Jay Dewis says the team's happy with their season so far, and are glad to have the opportunity to continue. He feels the team's strength is their depth.

"Our line-up, 1 through 9, are all capable of hitting the ball," he says, "And our pitching staff as well, so for us, it's just a matter of doing our jobs, and executing, and we hope the results will take care of them selves."

Dewis thinks playing at home is good for the team.

"We're comfortable at home," he says, "With the fields here, and it saves the travel, so we're excited about the opportunity to play at home, definitely."

There's quarter final action this morning at 10, as Northlands Parkway meets Sanford, while WC Miller takes on MCI. The Trojans meet the winner of the Northlands/Sanford game, with Garden Valley playing MCI or WC Miller.

Those games are at 1, with the championship at 4.
