The Central Plains Capitals hit the ice tonight for Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey in Winnipeg.

They're set to face the first place Wild at the MTS Iceplex. Central Plains had a minor stumble over the weekend, suffering their first loss in 6 games to Brandon, but they bounced back with a 3-2 win over Parkland Sunday. Caps' point leader Joey Moffat (11G-15A) says they've been playing great hockey lately, even in Saturday's loss.

"We're obviously pretty confident as we beat them once this year, and even in that Brandon game we had a lot of chances and a lot of pressure in the first two periods and let it go in the 3rd. Then we went up to Parkland though and got right back on track."

The Caps and Wild met once this season, with the Caps coming up big in a shootout. The caps' Jayson Brooks expects tonight to be another tight, defensive battle.

"They're a fast team, and pretty skilled. They can move the puck well so we have to make sure we've got guys coming hard back so we don't give up any odd-man rushes, and keep their offense to a minimal."
