Central Plains Capitals' Bantam Captain Joey Moffat was selected by the Saskatoon Blades in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Portage la Prairie native was selected in the tenth round -- 201st overall -- and Moffat gives his thoughts on making the cut.

"I went a bit later than I expected, but it's still an honour to be selected. The work just starts to begin now, and I'm looking forward to the future."

The 5'9'' 170 pound forward finished the 2015-16 hockey season with 128 points, 68 goals and 60 assists, with 94 penalty minutes. Moffat says it's a long road, but he hopes it ends with him playing for the blades.

"Pretty sure I was (The Blades') last pick in the draft. I haven't talked to the team yet, my advisor was talking to them and they said hopefully I'll be able to play there in 2 or 3 years."

He outlines his training plan for the summer.

"Going to be going to the gym all summer, and going to the rink in Winnipeg to work on my skating. And I think I'm going to another guy in Winnipeg to work on my skating too."

Moffat's excited to head to the Blades Spring Camp.
