In Zone 4 High School basketball, the Westpark Royals won and lost to Carman at Westpark School last night.

The Royals' junior varsity girls won 51-25. They showed poise in their victory, gradually improving thought the game. Royals' Grade 10 player Keely Chiponski led the team with 16 points. She talks about their defensive performance.

"We've been working on that a lot. We've learned how to connect with each other, and the passing is coming along for us. I think we're connecting well, it's a good year for us."

The JV Royals boys weren't as fortunate, as they fell 68-41 to the Cougars. Grade 10 Luke Foley scored 17 points in the loss for the Royals. He says there were a some good things they did last night.

"It was good. We moved the ball good, and passed the ball. We've improved pretty good along the season. We're a pretty good team together, and we work together good."

Westpark's jv boys are back in action Wednesday, when they host MCI. The girls are off until the 16th.
