The second team the Portage Terriers will play at the Western Canada Cup is the Chiliwack Chiefs.

They finished second in their division, and second in the league with a record of 41-11-6. The Chiefs downed the Langley Rivermen 4-2 in the first round, the league leading Wenatchee Wild 4-0 in the second, and then the Victoria Grizzlies 4-2 in round three. They play game seven of the league final tonight against the WCC host Penticton Vees. The Chiefs are peaking ahead of schedule; they are building a strong team to host the RBC Cup next year. They currently have six 20 year old players, and nine 19 year olds. They have no players from Chiliwack, but a few from the area.

Players to Watch

Jordan Kawaguchi (5''9” 181lbs) - The 19 year old forward leads the BCHL in playoff scoring with 43 points in just 22 games. He has 20 more points than his next closest teammate Kohen Olischefski. Kawaguchi was second in league scoring during the regular season with 85 points in 55 games.

Kohen Olischefski (6'2” 177lbs) - The Abbotsford product was second in team scoring this season with 76 points. The 18 year old forward is also second in team playoff scoring with 23.

Mark Sinclair (5'11” 170lbs) - Sinclair was the go-to-guy in net for the Chiefs this season posting a record of 33-13-0. The 20 year old goalie was 5th in the BCHL with a GAA of 2.59 and was 10th with a .910 SV%. Sinclair has played all of the games in the playoffs and has a .919 SV% and a 2.29 GAA.
