The Portage Collegiate Institute (PCI) Trojans are in Zone 4 high school baseball in Portage Wednesday.

PCI currently sits in second place in the Zone with a 9-1 record, one game back of Garden Valley, with four games remaining this season. They host Northlands Parkway and can jump over the Zodiacs with a sweep of the Nighthawks.

"It would be really easy for us to be complacent right now..." says Trojans' head coach Jay Dewis. "...but the message we're telling the boys is we want to continue doing things the right way and find some details in our game to improve on."

The Nighthawks are 3-5 this year and were recently beat 11-2 by the Trojans at a tournament.

NPC may have been short a couple of regulars when we saw them in Altona," admits Dewis. "Anything can happen out there, especially in a short, five-inning game. We're going to need to play well to win."

The Trojans have two games in hand on Garden Valley, who they play Thursday night in Portage. Wednesday's game against Northlands Parkway starts at 3:15 at Rotary Republic Park.
