The PCI Trojans took second place yesterday in the annual PCI Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Classic at Portage Collegiate Institute in Portage la Prairie.

Eight teams took part in the two-day tournament with the Vincent Massey Vikings capturing the victory and the Transcona Titans taking the consolation prize.

Trojans' coach Darin Arnold comments on the final game.

"It was a well-run tournament, a lot of the final games were close. In the final game, we were up four at half-time and we just kind of shot ourselves in the foot and then felt sorry for ourselves and just couldn't play basketball. Vincent Massey, very good team, they hit their shots and they went on a run and they stayed positive and we just felt sorry for ourselves."

He notes it was disheartening to finish they way they did but says they had two good games earlier in the tournament. The Trojans beat the Neelin Spartans 74-43 on Friday and had an 81-61 win over the Shaftesbury Titans in their noon game yesterday.
