The PCI Trojans fell 2-1 to Northlands Parkway last night in Zone 4 Hockey in Winkler.

PCI found themselves down a goal halfway through the first period. Their persistent attack paid off though as Sean Ballantyne was able to tie things at 1 at the midway point of the second, but the Nighthawks rebounded with a goal of their own a couple minutes later. Both teams had a few chances on the powerplay in the third but couldn't seem to find the back of the net.

Trojans' Head Coach Chris DeLong says they peppered 40 shots on net and ran into a hot goaltender.

"He gave up hardly any rebounds and he played very sound. We tried to get traffic in front and he was still seeing it. Their defense did a good job of boxing us out too. It's okay it's early though."

Defenseman Lucas Neufeld says both teams defense came to play.

"We played hard, we played good all game too but we just couldn't score. We couldn't put the puck in the net because their goalie was really strong, but so was ours. It was a defensive battle all night and there were a lot of powerplays on each side but no one could really finish."

The Trojans next game is in Carman on Monday.
