The PCI Trojans came out flying in their first game of the Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League Playoffs, winning 8-0 over the Transcona Titans in Winnipeg earlier today. Trojans' head coach Al Paterson says the team played a lot better against Transcona this time around.

"The game went very well. We played a little differently on offence than we did in our previous game against Transcona Collegiate, and we played a lot better defence as well."

Patterson says a few of the Trojans' players really stepped up in the offensive zone, and notes the team had another solid outing from their goaltender.

"We had two players that scored 3 goals a piece, Tyson Dyck scored 3 and Tyler Grantham scored 3, and Adam Lamblez scored the other 2 goals, so those kids played very well for us offensively. Riley Sveistrup, our goaltender, played well again today, which was good. We can always count on him to make some saves for us."

The Trojans' play again tomorrow against the number 1 ranked Garden City team and Patterson says if the team can continue to play well, they should have a good game.

"It should be an interesting game. I'm not exactly sure who they have coming out, but if we come ready to play and we play sound defensively, I think we'll give them a good run. I'm hoping we're able to continue our offensive output and play well."

Tomorrow's game is at 11a.m.
