The PCI Trojans won both games of their doubleheader against Garden Valley today in Zone 4 High School Baseball. PCI took game game one 6-2, and followed up with a 14-8 victory in game two.

In the first game, GVC was on the board first in the bottom of the second. The Trojans stormed back with a 4 run third inning led by a Jared Roy double, and an RBI single from Brody Moffat. The Zodiacs would add one more in the bottom of the 3rd, but Trojans' pitcher Jayson Brooks' 2RBI single would put the game out of reach. Brooks pitched 2 and 2/3 innings to pick up the win, Brody Moffatt pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up no runs.

In game 2 the Zodiacs again opened up the scoring, but this time with 3 in the top of the first. Again, the Trojans answered back with 5 runs in the bottom of the first, 7 in the second, and another 4 in the bottom of the fourth. Chance Dickenson started and went 1 2/3 innings , Tyler Van Deynze picked up the win throwing 2 1/3 inurning, and Joey Moffat threw 2/3's of an inning.

Trojans' Head Coach Jay Dewis says it was a strong performance from his club.

"Yeah, overall obviously we're pretty pleased with the way we swung the bats. We got a lot of contributions from a lot of different guys and we're happy. It's a good start."

Dewis says there's still a couple areas that need to improve.

"It's early in the year, but we gave up more walks than we'd like, and made a few more errors than we'd like to make but it's early, it's a process and we'll get better."

The Trojans' next game is Tuesday against WC Miller in Altona.
