The PCI Trojans' Field Lacrosse team is picked, and excited,  for the 2016 Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League Season.

The Trojans made it to the B Division semi final last year, after going 5-3 during the regular season. Trojans' Head Coach Al Patterson says injuries plagued the team toward the end of the season, which hindered their playoff run. Patterson's looking forward to another strong season from this year's roster .

"We've got a decent core of kids that are coming back again this year, we didn't lose that many from last year. So hopefully our younger guys, and gals, can develop and be a part of it."

Trojans' Grade 12 player Cole Hannah will be stepping into more of a leadership role this year with the club. He lists a couple of ways they'll improve on last season.

"Work on a lot of shots, because there's not many shooters on the team. We need to be able to get a better shot percentage on the net. Defense, we have a couple big guys coming this year."

Over 30 kids tried out for the team this year, which Hannah's excited to see.

"Yeah it's great. There was like 32 kids that came out, way more than last year. Last year there were only 18 or 20, so it's much bigger this year."

The Trojans made their final cuts yesterday, and the schedule will be released soon.
