The PCI Trojans lost 5-3 against Morden Thunder in Zone 4 High School Hockey at the PCU Centre last night.

The game stayed scoreless until late in the first when Morden picked up a couple goals to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission. Jaggar Barrault scored the lone goal in the second period to bring the Trojans within 1, but 2 unanswered goals by the Thunder in the 3rd gave Morden a 4-1 lead. Steven Vey and Haiden Burke were able to score a goal each for the Trojans to bring them within 1 late in the 3rd, but it was too little too late for the Trojans and Morden scored 1 more goal late to secure the 5-3 win.

Trojans' Assistant Coach Mark Essay says the team played well, but had a few too many errors.

"It was a close game I think...but we lost. Morden definitely came to play and we had a really slow start...We battled well in the 2nd period but, you know, our mistakes cost us, and when you're playing a team like that, that's coming to win, you can't make those stupid little mistakes."

The Trojans look to get back to their winning ways on Sunday, the 13th as they welcome the Morris Mavericks.
