The PCI Trojans were on the wrong side of the score sheet tonight in Zone 4 High School baseball, falling in both games of a double header against the WC Miller Aces in Altona.

WC Miller took game 1 of the double header 10-5. The Aces opened the scoring in the bottom of the second with 7 runs, thanks to 3 unfortunate errors from the Trojans. PCI was able to close the gap though with 5 runs in the top of the fourth. Garret Manly kick-started the inning which was capped off by a Brody Moffatt RBI double. Miller would add 3 more in the bottom of the fourth though to clinch the victory. Brody Moffatt was charged with the loss on the mound, while Chance Dickenson finished the final 3 innings.

Game two was much closer, with the Aces coming out on top 4-3. The Aces struck early with a run in the top of the first, but Portage answered back with 3 in the bottom of the inning. Brody and Joey Moffatt, along with Jared Roy, all had RBI's in the inning. Miller would add another in the top of the third inning. The turning point of game 2 was the bottom of the third inning when the Trojans had the bases loaded with no outs, and weren't able to score a run. Miller would add 2 in the top of the fifth to complete the come from behind victory.

Trojans' Head Coach Jay Dewis says they needed to be better.

"Yeah it wasn't our best effort. I think the errors hurt us in this game, mental errors especially, and we didn't score enough runs to compensate."

Dewis says there were some bright points in the game like Brody Moffatt's 4 hits, and Joey Moffatt's pitching in game 2. He expects a strong bounce back from the boys this weekend.

"I think so yeah. We hope this is just a hiccup, and we can kind of get back on track. We're going to get some games in Selkirk this weekend and we're looking forward to that."

The Trojans are in Selkirk this weekend for a tournament.
