The PCI Trojans fell 4-3 to Morden in Game 1 of the best-of-3 Zone 4 High School Hockey League Semi Final last night.

Morden jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but the Trojans were able to able to narrow the deficit to 1, thanks to a goal from Ethan Woodward. The Thunder regained their two goal lead shortly into the second -- but again the Trojans climbed within one -- as Tyson Dyck slid one passed the Thunder netminder. The Trojans battled hard, even after Morden scored their 4th and final goal of the game halfway through the 3rd period. Trojans' forward Jagger Barrault was able to put one more late in the game, but they couldn't force overtime.

PCI's GM Mark Essay says the win was there for the taking.

"We totally had the opportunity there a few times. We didn't play 60 minutes, which cost us, and Morden came to play. They've got some dominant key players out there, and they delivered, and we didn't."

Game 2 is tonight at the PCU Centre, and Essay's hoping their 3rd period effort carries over.

"Our third period was our best period, and so that's how we need to start, and that's how we need to play for 60 minutes. Guys were tired -- they worked hard there -- that third period they left it all out there, but it just wasn't enough. We just let too much get away from us in the beginning."

The Trojans and Thunder go at 7:45 at the PCU Centre.
