Curlers from around the world are in Portage la Prairie this weekend.

The 7th annual Canad Inns Men's Classic's is this morning at the Portage Curling Club. Canad Inns' CEO Dan Lussier says the event has really taken off since they took over in 2010. He says you don't get too see curling of this calibre too often.

"We've got 32 teams from across Canada, the U.S.A., Korea, China, Denmark, Switzerland. We've got the current Manitoba Provincial Champion, we've got Olympic Gold Medallist Brad Jacobs, and we've got the World Champion Kevin Koe just to name a few of them."

Lussier says they always get amazing feedback from the curlers after the event, mainly because of their amazing venue.

"They roll into the hotel, check into their rooms, and basically walk indoors to the curling rink which is integrated within the hotel. So they never have to leave the hotel all weekend."

He adds the event is even better for spectators.

"For spectators we've got main floor viewing area, as well as our second floor viewing area from our very own Tavern United."

The first draw is this morning at 10. Get the full draw at the World Curl Website.
