The Portage Terriers made it 19 wins in row last night with their 3-2 overtime win over Swan Valley. The Terriers' streak started back on January 5th, when they defeated the Selkirk Steelers 5-3.

Swan Valley was first on the board last night, as Josh Tripp opened things up at the 9 minute mark. The Terriers peppered Stampeders' netminder Brett Evans with 20 shots in the frame, but couldn't managed to get one by.

The Terriers started the second period on a powerplay and didn't waste any time notching their first of the night. Brad Bowles popped it in for his 43rd goal of the year, with assists going to rookie Nick Henry and defenseman Dean Stewart. Again though, Swan Valley was able to take the lead when Trevor Mann slid one past the Terriers' netminder. Portage's defenseman Cody Lightfoot was able to tie things up with just over a minute left, Jeremy Leipsic and Braydon MacDonald picked up assists on the play.

Both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the 3rd, so an overtime period was necessary. It only took the Terriers top line 19 seconds to get the job done in OT, as Brad Bowles scored his second of the night. Shawn Bowles and Nick Henry were the helpers on the game winning goal. Josh Bykowski picked up the win between the pipes for the Terriers, he stopped 25 shots in the victory.

The Terriers now have an opportunity to make it 20-in-a-row, and to win out Tuesday night when they visit Waywayseecapo Tuesday night. The Terriers have not lost in regulation in 2016 either, their only loss came to Steinbach in a shootout.
