You can already feel the tension.

Heated rivals the Portage Terriers and Steinbach Pistons go at it tonight in Game 1 of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's best-of-seven semifinal series in Steinbach.

It's the fourth time they've met in the playoffs in the last five years, with the Terriers winning the last two to capture the MJHL Championship. They both didn't end well for the Pistons either, as they were swept by the Dogs in the 2014-15 playoffs and eliminated in five games last season.

"I think everyone knows we've played each other in the past couple of years here," says Terrier Jeremy Leipsic. "They'll for sure want to beat us since they've had our number this year. They've got a lot of depth up front and on the point as well, and a good goaltender. I think it will be an interesting series because I feel we match up pretty well. Obviously, they had our number during the regular season but it's a whole new season here in the playoffs. We're looking forward to Game 1 and hoping to get it under our belts."

The puck drops tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Steinbach. You can hear the game on CFRY and at Portage Online with the pre-game show starting at 7:20.
