It's now a best of three. The Portage Terriers tied the MJHL Turnbull cup final at two last night when they beat the OCN Blizzard 4-3 at Stride Place. It was a back and forth affair that needed overtime.

Portage came out with energy to start the first period and Jeremey Leipsic scored in the first four minutes. A rebound came to him in front of the net on the power play and he made no mistake. The lead would be short-lived; a minute and a half later Jeremy Dumont had the puck come to him in front of the net, and he was able to put it over a scrambling Kurtis Chapman into the net. It was an even first period with Portage outshooting OCN 7-6.

Despite outshooting OCN 15-7 in the second period, Portage found themselves trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes. The Blizzard found the back of the net 12:09 into the frame when off the rush Mavrick Rafter fired a shot over the shoulder of Chapman.

The Terriers came out hungry in the third period and assistant captain Josh Martin tied the game in the first minute with a sharp angle shot. It bounced off an OCN skate in front of the net and caught Brett Epp off guard. Portage would regain the lead eight minutes later. Cody Thompson blasted a pointshot past the blocker of Epp for his first goal of the playoffs. With the net empty the Terriers had a goal waved off because of an offside call. The Blizzard would then come down the ice and with less than a minute to play George King scored at the side of the net to send it to overtime.

In the extra period both teams had a power play but couldn't find the back of the net. Chase Brakel ended the game 6:52 into the frame when he knocked home a loose rebound in front of the net. The series now head back to OCN for game five on Sunday. Puck drop is at 7 pm and the play by play can be found on CFRY and Portageonline.com starting with the pregame show at 6:50 pm.
