The Portage Terriers' Manitoba Junior Hockey League Playoff Series with Selkirk begins tonight in Portage.

The Terriers finished in 1st place overall, earning them home advantage through the playoffs. Selkirk's fresh off their Survivor Series win over Dauphin to gain their entry into the MJHL Playoffs. Terriers' Captain Brad Bowles says they've got a lot of confidence heading into the series.

"I think our team is pretty confident right now after a 20 game win streak. So we just need to get pucks in deep and behind the defensemen -- work them down low -- that's what we've been doing all year and it's been working for us."

The Terriers won the season series 5-1 over the Steelers. Portage's Assistant Captain Brett Orr outlines their opponents.

"They're a pretty feisty team. They've got some guys with some speed -- and some skill -- that can put the puck in the net. They're not the most defensive team, so I think that's what we need to take the most advantage of is playing our game down low -- which is one of our biggest strengths -- and limit the turnovers at their blue line and our blue line because that's where they really capitalize."

Tonight's game starts at 7:30 at the PCU Centre. The game will be broadcast on CFRY and PortageOnline, with the pre-game show starting at 7:20.
