The Portage Terriers (20-7) are on the road this weekend for back-to-back games with Swan Valley (9-14-3).

It's the third meeting between the two clubs this season, with Portage coming out on top in the first two. The Stampeders have struggled lately, and dropped their last two games.

"They're going to be a hard working team," says Terriers forward Takato Cox of Swan Valley. "It's a long road trip so we might be tired after it, and we just have be ready to go from there."

Portage has scored 12 goals in its last two games after their offence struggled in a 1-0 loss to Steinbach last Wednesday. Cox had three points in the Terriers' win over Neepawa earlier this week. "Last game I obviously got to play with Leipsic and McIsaac, two elite players," says Cox. "That gave me a lot of confidence. Now we just have to keep it rolling."

Assistant Coach Paul Harland says the Stampeders can be a real wild card, and you never know what kind of game it will be. He says it's important for them to set the tempo.

"Some nights they're really good, and some nights it seems they struggle to score. They do work hard though, so we need to be prepared to go in there and work hard and compete, and if we do that, we will give ourselves a chance to win."

The Terriers and Stampeders go at 7:30 p.m. in Swan Valley tonight. The teams hit reset, and hit the ice again at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow too.
