The Portage Terriers and Neepawa Natives face off in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action in Neepawa tonight. It's the first of a home-and-home series with the Natives today and tomorrow.

The Terriers lost the last time they made the trip to Neepawa, falling 5-1 on February 10th, 2017. They've gone 2-2 since then and forward Chase Brakel says wins are very important for the club heading into playoffs.

"Momentum is huge going into playoffs and consistency is a big part of that. If you look at last year we went on a huge roll in the second half, especially the last 20 games, and it showed in the playoffs through our confidence."

The Natives haven't lost in regulation in their last six games, losing just one in overtime to the Winnipeg Blues.

"They're an extremely hard working team, especially in their home rink on a small ice surface," says Brakel. "They've been rolling lately and the last time we were there it definitely didn't go well so we'll have to be ready to go for tonight's game."

You can catch the game on CFRY and at Portage Online. Puck drop is set for 7:30 in Neepawa, the pregame show starts at 7:20.
