Braden Macdonald's third period goal led the Portage Terriers to a 5-3 victory over the Selkirk Steelers last night in MJHL action.

It was the final regular season match between the Terriers and Steelers, and it showed on the ice, as they went back and forth throughout the game. Chase Brakel opened the scoring for the Dogs, but the lead was short lived, as Ty Kraus scored to tie things at 1 with 20 seconds to go in the period.

The Terriers struck quickly into the second period, as Adam Wowryk and Brad Bowles scored before the 5 minute mark, giving them a 3-1 lead. The Steelers cut the Terriers' lead to 1 a few minutes later, as Kraus netted his second of the night.

Kuczek's goal in the third period

Former Terrier Dexter Kuczek tied things just 20 seconds in, setting up a 3-3 third period. The Terriers rallied though, as they spent the rest of the game dominating all over the ice, especially in the offensive zone. Finally, after about 6 minutes of sustained attack, Braydon MacDonald deflected a point shot in to give the Terriers the lead. Terriers' Nick Henry added an empty net for the win.

The Terriers are in Winnipeg to face the Blues Friday Night. Catch the game on CFRY or Portage Online.
