The offence came to life last night for the Portage Terriers as they dominated the Dauphin Kings en route to a 7-2 victory. A slow start was a problem for the Terriers on Wednesday but it wasn't the case in Dauphin as the Dogs scored three goals in the first period.

Ty Enns opened the scoring when he fired home a one-timer on the power play. He would find the back of the net again six minutes later when he slammed another goal past Duncan McGovern with the man advantage. The Terriers would score their league leading 10th short handed goal with ten seconds left in the first. Ty Barnstable broke up a "D-to-D" pass and scored on the breakaway.

Dauphin would attempt to claw back into the game with an Ian Briscoe goal 4 minutes into the second period, but Portage pulled away minutes later. Chase Brakel slid home his first of the night from the mid slot to make the game 4-1. The line of Enns, Barnstable, and Josh Martin would continue to control the play in the second period. Barnstable got his second of the night five minutes after Brakel's first. Brakel would score his team leading 29th of the season before the end of the frame to make it 6-1.

With the game out of reach, both teams would exchange goals in the third period. Jeremey Leipsic scored for Portage, Briscoe for Dauphin.

Portage played a physical brand of hockey which led to chances and results; they peppered Duncan McGovern with 50 shots. Brock Aiken made 22 saves in the Portage net for the win. With the victory, Portage takes the season series with the Kings 4-2.

The Terriers are back in action on Sunday when they host the Winnipeg Blues at 6:30 pm.
