The goals continue to pile up for the Portage Terriers.

They took out the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 7-4 in MJHL hockey at the PCU Centre last night. Portage jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead thanks to two quick goals from Portage la Prairie native Jared Roy. "It Sokoloski and Wowryk that for sure helped me out there," says Roy when asked about his great start to the night. "They were getting pucks deep and they just told me to go to the front of the net and they'd pass it to me, and it worked out great."

The Terriers' increased their lead to 3 in the second period thanks to Ryan Hendrix, but seemed to let off the gas a little after that. Waywayseecappo capitalized on a lackadaisical 10 minutes from the Terriers, scoring 3 goals to tie the game at 3. Terriers' newest forward Ty Enns took things into his own hands, scoring 2 quick goals before the end of the second to regain their lead.

Terriers' forwards Adam Wowryk and Chase Brakel would each score in the third period to put the game out of the reach of the Wolverines. Waywayseecappo would add one more before the end of the period to close out the game.

Both games over the weekend weren't the best from the dogs, and Terriers' forward Chase Brakel says they've still got some bugs to work.

"We have a lot to work on and those two games really showed it. It'll be a good week in practice, and we'll work on a few things, but we did get the 4 points this weekend so that's the main goal."

Roy says it was a much better performance defensively in the second game, but still not where they need to be. The Terriers next game is Wednesday when they visit the Winkler Flyers.
