The Portage Terriers have a tough test tonight when they take on the top team at the Western Canada Cup the Brooks Bandits.

The AJHL champions are the only undefeated team at the tournament and will play their final game tonight. They have outscored their opponents 13-6. The Bandits are lead by Josh McKechney, Parker Foo, and Cale Makar who are tied with three points. Makar is a young defenseman who is projected to be an early first round NHL draft pick.

"They are fast, skilled, big and they have Makar who we have to key in on" says Terrier forward Jeremey Leipsic. "But I think if we stick to our game plan...we can make a good game out of it."

The Terriers are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Chilliwack Chiefs on Monday night. Portage had a strong power play in game one against Battlefords (3-5), but went 0-4 in game two against Chilliwack. Chase Brakel, Ty Enns, and Mackenzie Dwyer are tied for the team lead in scoring with three points.

The puck will drop at 9 pm (MB time). The game will be broadcast on CFRY and Portageonline.com with the pregame show starting at 8:50 pm. If Portage win, they will guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs on the weekend.
