A victory tonight would put the Portage Terriers 1 win away from hoisting the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Turnbull Cup for the second straight year.

The Terriers lead the Steinbach Pistons 2 games to 0 in their best-of-7 final, after taking game 2 in Steinbach Sunday night. Portage netminder Nathan Park was recently named the MJHL's Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week for his performance against the Pistons. He won both games, one of which by a shutout. Park says the team does a great job of keeping his line of sight clear.

"Mostly just the fact that I've been able to see a lot of pucks. That's a huge thing as a goaltender when you're able to see the puck, you're mostly able to stop it. When you're in that zone and you have that confidence, it's really hard to fall out of it."

The Terriers aggressive offensive attack has been a key factor for them all season. Rookie forward Nick Henry discusses their offensive play versus Steinbach.

"Getting pucks toward the net and working them down low. When our line gets the cycle game going it really starts to work well."

The Pistons were down 2-0 to Winkler in their previous series, but still managed to win it in 7 games. Terriers' defender Brett Orr says they can't give Steinbach a shot at a comeback, and that starts with a win tonight.

"Winkler was in this same situation feeling good about themselves, but we're in a little different situation, we're coming home for game 3 where as (Winkler) was going to Steinbach," says Orr. "We have to do the same thing. We just have to keep doing what we've been doing this whole series and hopefully it'll pay off once again."

Terriers' Assistant Captain Shawn Bowles talks about their quick starts this series.

"Yeah, it's huge. Especially in the finals. You have to have a good start against a team like this, so I think we're doing good. We just have to keep it up."

Game 3 is set to go at 7:30 tonight at the PCU Centre. Catch the pregame show on CFRY and Portage Online dot com at 7:20.
