The Portage Terriers saw their season come to an end last night as they fell to the Brooks Bandits 2-1. With a trip to the RBC Cup on the line both teams came out firing in the first period. Portage would get into penalty trouble in the first, giving the Bandits 4 power play opportunities. Josh McKechney would capitalize on the fourth when he split the Terrier defencemen and dodged a Nathan Park poke check to slide it in.

Brooks would increase the pressure in the second period and would get their second of the night. Jeff Malott received a pass from the corner and snuck it underneath Park. Portage would get on the board when Braydon MacDonald tipped home a point shot on the power play. After two periods Brooks was outshooting Portage 27-12.

Nathan Park makes 1 of 32 saves

The Terriers would come out stronger in the third but wouldn't be able to put another past Garrett Hughson. Nathan Park played well in net stopping 32 of 34 to give his team a chance for the win.

Brooks now advances to the RBC Cup as the second team from the West. The Terriers are sad to see the following 20 year old players graduate: Brad Bowles, Shawn Bowles, Josh Bykowski, Michael Knaub, Braydon MacDonald, Nathan Park, Brock Weston.
