The MacGregor Mustangs' senior boys basketball tournament is this weekend.

Seven teams will be making the trip out for the tournament including Portage's Westpark Royals. Mustangs' head coach Myron Friesen feels tournament games should be treated as any other league match.

"I feel tournament performance is important. If you have a strong showing, and strong record through the year, the higher you will be ranked at the provincial tournament. If you are lucky enough to get there."

Other teams include Warren, Elm Creek and William Morton Collegiate. The Finals are set for 5 p.m. tomorrow. Friesen says he's got a big team this year, in terms of numbers.

"I've got 12 kids, and I'd describe us as really deep," says Friesen. "I play a lot of players, almost every game, and everyone that plays makes a contribution, which isn't always the case when you coach basketball."

The Mustangs open the tournament at 12:30 today, Westpark goes at 2:05 against Warren, and William Morton is up against Boissevain at 5:15. The full draw can be found here.
