Team Manitoba's back from their silver medal performance at the Everest Senior Men's Championship in Digby Nova Scotia.

Team Manitoba Lead Dale Michie admits they never expected a silver medal.

"You know, I'll be honest, I didn't think we'd be anywhere near there. We actually went 2-2 in our first 4 games, and then in the 5th game we were down 6-1 with 2 ends to go, and we were somehow able to come back and win that one. Then we beat Alberta the next game with 3 players to qualify for the playoff round.

Team Manitoba's Third Dean Moxham was unable to participate in the bonspiel, as he needed emergency surgery before the event even started. Michie says they had an excellent fill in for Moxham, which made a huge difference.

"We were able to get our spare Dale Brooks into the mix on a regular basis, which helped a lot as well. Without him, there's no way we would've made it through the playoffs, or maybe not even into the playoffs."

Moxham is well on his way to a full recovery for the World Championship in Sweden later this Month. Michie gives an update on his teammates' status.

"(Dean's) feeling really well. Definitely wouldn't have been ready to go any time through that event, just because you have to let yourself heal. But, we're 100% confident that he'll be good and ready to go by the time we get to Sweden."

The World Championship starts on April 15th in Sweden.
