The PCI Trojans left Winkler feeling relieved last night.

They held off Garden Valley for a 2-0 shutout victory in Zone 4 Hockey. Trojans' defenseman Layne Rintoul scored the game winning goal, Cole Butler added an empty-netter  late in the 3rd to seal the win. Head Coach Chris DeLong says they ran up against another hot goalie.

"We peppered him with a lot of shots but couldn't get many passed him again. We dug down deep and played a solid backchecking game, and killed off a 5-minute major in the last 12 minutes so it was a good team effort."

DeLong says their discipline continues to be one of their strong points.

"It was a very clean game. Winkler is not a big team but they've got a lot of heart, I'll give them full credit for that. Even the 5 minute major was kind of a suspect call but we survived."

The Trojans are back in action tomorrow when they host Morris at the PCU Centre.
