Team USA needed overtime to beat Canada 3-2 in the gold medal game at the U18 Women's World Championship in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Team USA erased a 2-0 for the Canadians in the 3rd period to force overtime. Central Plains Capitals' Sheridan Oswald explains what was said in the Canadians dressing room after the 3rd period.

"They just told us to stick to our game plan and just live in the moment and give it all you've got."

Oswald says the team was fired up from start to finish.

"Even on the bench we weren't calm, we're hyped up and excited for our teammates and you drive off of that."

The Americans scored the game winning goal just under 2 minutes into overtime to win them gold and give the Canadians the silver medal. Oswald says it doesn't feel good to lose, but adds it was a great experience.

"Right now it doesn't feel so good, but I think over a bit of time it'll get better...It's a great honour playing for Canada and I'm really proud of my teammates. I definitely gained a lot of new friendships that I'll carry with me forever."
