The Portage Padres are in Austin tonight to face the A's in the Santa Clara Baseball League.

Portage gave up 6 runs in the 5th in their loss to the Mavericks Sunday night. Padres' First Base Tyler Butler says those tough losses can happen.

"They're a good team. They just strung a couple of hits together, hit some holes, and it's just the way that baseball works unfortunately sometimes."

Butler says they can't rely on one or two hitters all season, and they need more consistency at the plate.

"Hitting's not an issue, that's for sure. We just have to find a way to string more hits together, rather than spreading them out."

The Padres and A's go at 7 p.m. in Austin.
