The Santa Clara Baseball League Finals are set!

The Portage Padres and Minnedosa Mavericks both punched their tickets last night with road wins.

The Padres won 10-5 over the Pirates in Plumas. The Padres got out to a quick 7-nothing lead after the first two innings, and pitcher Dustin Donald sealed the deal with a stellar 7 inning performance. First baseman Tyler Butler says the boys are fired up for an appearance in the finals.

"Pretty excited. We aren't satisfied yet, we've got a lot of work to do and word is we're playing Minnedosa. We're excited for game 1. It's going to be fun, it's going to be intense. It's going to be a good series for sure."

Butler feeling confident they can give the Mavericks a run for their money in the final.

"As long as our bats keep going the way they are, and our pitchers can keep us in a game, I think the way we're playing right now -- we'll do well -- if we can play the way we've been playing."

The Mavs celebrate in their win over Portage earlier this season

The Minnedosa Mavericks knocked off the Neepawa Cubs 7-6. The Mavericks are in Provincials this weekend, so the Finals won't begin until next week.

A date for game 1 between Portage and Minnedosa hasn't been set.
