There are three games Wednesday in the Santa Clara Baseball League.

The Minnedosa Mavericks (4-1) look to hand the Portage Padres (3-0-1) their first loss of the season, just as the Padres did to the Mavs in Minnedosa a little over a week ago. Portage is the only undefeated team that remains in the league this season and Padres' Pitcher Rod McLeod says the Mavs will be coming out strong tonight and he expects a close game.

"I think five of the last six meetings with the Mavericks have been really tight. So I would think that would be the type of game we'll have here Wednesday. They're coming off two big wins where they scored 16 runs in both games, so their bats are hot but our bats are hot too. We played an undefeated team last week and scored 11 runs off them so we're feeling pretty good going in too."

The Padres and Mavericks take to Rotary Republic Park at 7 p.m.

The Austin A's (2-4) are also on the diamond tonight as they host the Neepawa Cubs (2-1-1). Both teams are coming off victories. The Cubs whomped the Pirates 13-2 while the A's beat Dauphin 5-4 in the second of back-to-back games.

The Plumas Pirates (2-3) will look to bounce back from that trouncing from Neepawa Saturday as they visit the Royals (3-1) in Carberry.
