The PCI Saints' first game of 2017 is today in Winnipeg. They visit Beliveau in the Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey League's 'B' Division in Winnipeg.

The Saints had a strong first half that included an eight-game winning streak, and a fourth place finish to 2016 with a 10-4 record. It's their first time facing the 9-5 Barracudas this season, and they're only two points back. "I really know nothing about them or how they're doing heading in," says head coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie. "We should be going into it with the frame of mind that we just have to play our game, and do what we need to do to be successful, and not worry about them."

The Saints missed a few games thanks to the weather in the first half of the season, making for a very busy second half. "This is a real tough stretch for the girls because of exam time as well," admits Clark-Gillespie. "Usually people start getting sick or injured because we are so busy. Fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy and we are able to get through to the playoffs."

Puck drop is set for 4:15.
