The PCI Saints beat the Garden City Gophers 9-1 in Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey action earlier today in Winnipeg.

Saints Assistant Coach Kayla Price says even though the Saints won by 8 goals, the team didn't play as well she knows they can.

"I wouldn't necessarily say it was our best game but the the score doesn't show that. We played a better overall offensive and defensive game when we lost earlier this week."

Price says the girls did play well in the offensive zone against the Gophers.

"They did a lot of offensive things today. They were moving the puck well and getting some nice slapshots from the point and then banging in some rebounds. We had a lot of shots on them but their goalie made a lot of good saves."

The Saints' goals came from 5 different players with Maegan Inman, Paige Shwaluk, Megan Ferg, and Kylee Nelson all picking up 2 goals each and Bailey Grantham scoring once for the Saints. The Saints' next game is Monday, the 11th when they face-off against Westwood.
