There was West Winnipeg Athletic Conference (WWAC) Tier 2 varsity basketball today at Portage Collegiate.

The PCI Saints fell 68-44 to the Daniel McIntyre Maroons.

"We were fighting the ball a little bit out there," says head coach Bill Marsh. "We've also got some injury problems, and some sickness problems, so the players left knew that they had to work a little bit harder tonight. We're also sitting in a playoff spot right now and barely hanging on to it, so I think the pressure may have got to them."

Marsh feels if they can get a win in their final game next week they should be safe for the playoffs.

The junior varsity Saints are on the court Thursday in Portage la Prairie for WWAC Tier 2 action against Churchill High School. Tip off's at 5 p.m.

The varsity Zone 7 playoffs begin Thursday.

MacGregor sees two teams in action. The varsity girls finished third and will visit Elton Thursday at 5. The boys claimed top spot and will host fifth place Minnedosa at 5 in MacGregor.
