The PCI Saints are headed to the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 soccer Championship Final.

The Saints won 7-0 over a shorthanded John Taylor in the semi final at Rotary Republic Park yesterday. John Taylor kept up with PCI for the first 10 minutes, but their 9 player roster was quickly hindered by the heat, and the Saints' spread out attack.

Grantham controlling the ball

Saints' forward Bailey Grantham says they took advantage of the room on the field.

"I think even though they had less players we knew to move the ball around more because there was more open spaces. So we used it to our advantage."

Leading the way with 2 goals for PCI was Maggie Muirhead and Cassidy George. Muirhead says their attack all started at the back end.

"Our defense started really good, so every time it would come to them they would boot it back in for us to get some shots on net. I think we learned more how to pass too, because we had a little more space to do it."

Saints' Emily Upgang and Leah Dickenson also scored in the victory. The Saints now await an opponent, and a location for the championship final. The game is scheduled for Tuesday.
