Preparations for the 2016-17 MJHL Season continue for Portage Terriers, following training camp over the long weekend.

Tonight, the Terriers' rookies face their counterparts from Virden Oil Capitals at the PCU Centre.

Terriers assistant coach Paul Harland says the coaching staff will be looking for intensity.

"Except for the real young guys, some of the older rookies that are vying for spots that can't go back to midget, or have a year of midget left, they want to play on our team. So it's competitive, and we want to see how those guys perform, and see if they're going to be able to come along to the next level."

Game time's 7 o'clock.
