It was a successful weekend at the PCU Centre in Portage la Prairie for Hockey Manitoba's Peewee Rising Stars tournament. Tournament Co-coordinator Rod Sviestrup comments on the weekend.

"The weekend was fantastic! We had 8 teams from 6 different regions and played 24 games. It went off without a hitch and we had a lot of fun. It was good"

Sviestrup says the Rising Stars Tournament is for second-year peewee players, adding the tournament is all about player development and having fun.

"There are no finals or playoffs; it's about development, it's about giving the kids an opportunity to play with other kids within the region. For us, the emphasis is definitely on fun. They come out, play 3 games, have a good time and enjoy the weekend."
