Dean Moxham and Dale Michie of Portage are Provincial Senior Men's Curling champions for the second year in a row.

Moxham, Michie, Peter Nicholls and their skip Randy Neufeld beat Bob Sigurdson of the Granite 6-5 in yesterday's final at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg.

Leading 5-2 coming home, the La Salle foursome gave up three in the 8th end. Neufeld won it when he drew to the four foot with his final stone of the extra end.

Michie calls winning a second straight provincial title a great feeling.

"It was a fantastic field this year, and every game just getting tougher and tougher and tougher all the way through. Old Skipper there, he made a lot of big ones top pull us through the end we played bad in, but over-all, I thpought the team played really solid, so I'm really looking forward to Canadians."

Moxham echoes his teammate, describing the victory as pretty special.

"We've got a good group of guys, so it's nice to do it with them. You never expect to be able to do it twice because that's a pretty good field we played, with Robertson and Sigurdson who kind of dominated before we got here, so I was happy to do it."

The Canadian Senior Championships are March 28th to April 3rd in Digby, Nova Scotia. Neufeld, Moxham, Nicholls and Michie will represent Canada at the World Championship in Karlstad, Sweden from April 15th to 23rd.

Sandra Cowling of Hamiota beat Terry Ursel of Neepawa 5-4 in the final of the Provincial Senior Women's Championship, which was also held at Fort Rouge.
