Don't miss out on getting your child signed up for softball this year.

An open registration night was held for Portage Minor Softball Thursday last week, and their second is tonight at Stride Place.

"For the younger groups the season runs through May and June mostly," says treasurer Noelle Cunningham. "The season is usually done by the end of school. There are some Provincial Teams that get created to go to provincials in the early part of July too. The ages range from U-6, all the way up to U-18, but the older ages are a little low and we're always looking for more players."

Cunningham says the younger players don't need much to play. "We'll have dryland training through the month of April so we're in the gym. Kids just need runners and a glove to take part. We'll use the BDO Centre for training, we also have some time booked at Yellowhead School."

She adds softball registration is mostly for girls but they do accept a few boys every season. If you can't make the registration tonight you can get in touch with Cunningham at 204-857-7711. Registration is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Stride Place.
