MacGregor's looking to have some senior men's hockey in town this winter.

A presentation is being put together to enter the Tiger Hills Hockey League for the 2016-17 season. THHL President Wayne Deschouwer says the board's excited at the thought of expanding their league.

"13 is kind of an odd number to work with, so if MacGregor is accepted, we'll be up to 14, and it just makes everything a lot more manageable, from scheduling to the operations of a league as a whole."

Deschouwer says the league's been abuzz since a few people brought up the idea of MacGregor joining the league, and he's confident they'll succeed.

"I think everybody wants to get that 14th team. The boys in the southwest, it's a long way, but you only do it maybe once a season, so that's not that terrible, the benefits far outweigh the others, so I think they've got a good shot at being accepted."

The THHL's semi-annual meeting is Monday in Glenboro, and that's where the vote will take place. If MacGregor's bid is accepted, they'll proceed to pick out schedule dates immediately.
