The Portage Curling Club's Men's Bonspiel wrapped up yesterday afternoon in Portage la Prairie.

Team Stewart took home the A division championship, after defeating team Twiss 6-2. Skip Dean Moxham, Second Brett Moxham, Third Ken Boyachek and Lead Cam Stewart make up the team, and Stewart talks about their play over the weekend.

"We just got Dean and Brett to spare for us this weekend, and they curled really well. It was a lot of fun. I've curled in the bonspiel a lot of times and it's the first time I've won. I'm sure the Moxhams have been on the trophy before. It was good, it's disappointing the turn out wasn't a little better, but maybe next year."

The B side championship went to Team Greenfield, after they knocked off Team Harley 6-4. Farrol Asham, Barry Sadler and Shaun Cornish -- along with Skip Dave Greenfield -- make up the team, and Greenfield talks about his experience this weekend.

"Last minute put the team together the night before. Struggled in our first game -- lost -- kind of gelled and got it together and here we are. I had a great time, the bonspiel was fantastic. I didn't win any prizes upstairs so that was a little disappointing, but it was good. The draw to the button was kind of neat this year for that $10,000. Unfortunately I didn't get in there, it was kind of neat."

Other champions include the C division champions Team Hyde, and the D division champs Team Trevor Munro.
